  • Mrs. Katherine E. "Kay" Greenlee, 91, a resident of Otsego Manor in Cooperstown since October 30, 2009, and former Dolgeville resident, died Sunday, August 26, 2012, at the nursing home.

  • Mrs. Katherine E. "Kay" Greenlee, 91, a resident of Otsego Manor in Cooperstown since October 30, 2009, and former Dolgeville resident, died Sunday, August 26, 2012, at the nursing home.
    Katherine was born in Dolgeville on July 26, 1921, the daughter of Charles L. and Georgiana L. (Jones) Silvernail, and was a graduate of Dolgeville High School.
    Her marriage to Robert Allen Greenlee took place on August 28, 1941, in Dolgeville. Mr. Greenlee predeceased her on December 22, 2000.
    Kay, as she was known, was employed by the former Daniel Green Company of Dolgeville, in the main office, and was also employed by the Dolgeville Central School system in the cafeteria.
    She was a devoted member of the Dolgeville United Methodist Church, along with enjoying quilting and reading, especially westerns and romance novels. Her family remembers her as an impeccable home keeper.
    She is survived by a daughter and her husband, Pamela and Joseph Cali, of Argyle, NY; her son-in-law, Gary Parese, of Richfield Springs; a brother, John Silvernail, of Dolgeville; two sisters, Helen Benedetto, of Albany, and Jane Downin, of Florida; her grandchildren, Kate Rose Parese, Jessica and her husband, Buzz Davis, and Errin Charles and his wife, Crystal Parese; her great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Patricia Parese, on September 17, 2000.
    Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 31, 2012, at noon, at the Roberts & Enea Funeral Home, 3 Faville Avenue, Dolgeville. The Rev. Diane E. DiLuzio, pastor of the United Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will follow in the Dolgeville Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday morning from 11 AM until the time of the service.
    Memorials in her name may be made to the Dolgeville-Manheim Public Library, 20 North Main Street, Dolgeville, NY 13329.
