  • National Grid is urging its Mohawk Valley customers to be cautious of scam artists who are going door-to-door offering to restore power for a fee, the power company said in a release Thursday.

  • National Grid is urging its Mohawk Valley customers to be cautious of scam artists who are going door-to-door offering to restore power for a fee, the power company said in a release Thursday.
    National Grid crews never ask for payment for services to inspect equipment or re-establish service, the release stated.
    National Grid reminds customers to check identification of all individuals who say they are making inquiries or offering services on behalf of National Grid.
    Customers who have been approached by someone asking for such payments are asked to notify local authorities and/or National Grid
