    Joe McKinney scored a career-high 25 points and recorded a double-double for Herkimer Wednesday as the Magicians defeated the Dolgeville Blue Devils 56-45 to clinch a spot in the Section III playoffs.
    The Magicians (5-10, 4-4 CSC-III) have failed to qualify for postseason play the last two years. With four wins in league play, they are assured of a .400 winning percentage within Division II of the Center State Conference.
    McKinney, who also had 11 rebounds, hit eight of his 11 first-half foul shots and scored 16 points to help Herkimer open a 31-19 lead. Adrian Viscomi added 12 points in the win.
    Bryce Dineen scored 14 points and Alex Johnson added 12 for Dolgeville (0-14, 0-7 CSC-II).
    The Magicians play Friday at 6 p.m. in Mohawk. Dolgeville takes on Little Falls at home Friday.

    LITTLE FALLS 78, FRANKFORT-SCHUYLER 64
    FRANKFORT, N.Y. — The Little Falls Mounties led by 26 points at halftime Wednesday and defeated the Frankfort-Schuyler Maroon Knights 78-64.
    Lucas Godlewski hit five three-pointers and matched his career-high with 25 points for the Mounties (8-7, 5-3 CSC-II). Jesse Lonis added 11 points, Mitchell Baumeister had 10 and Jordan Day scored nine.
    Nick Cooper had 17 points, 12 rebounds and five steals for the Maroon Knights (3-11, 2-5 CSC-II). Mark Spina scored 14 points and Mitch Shortt had six assists.
    Little Falls travels to Dolgeville Friday while Frankfort-Schuyler is home for a game against West Canada Valley.

    ILION, N.Y. — The Ilion Golden Bombers scored 25 points in the fourth quarter Wednesday and pulled out a 58-56 win against Adirondack’s Wildcats.
    Ilion trailed by as many as 11 points and got a spark from James Fedor of the bench. Fedor hit two three-pointers in the fourth quarter and Brandon Harrigan added a three with a pair of free throws. Herschel Ivey made six of his seven foul shots in the final three minutes and stole an inbounds pass to seal the win with seven seconds left on the clock.
    Page 2 of 3 - Ivey went 14-for-18 at the foul line and Ilion (11-4, 6-2 CSC-I) was 26-for-34 as a team. Ivey led the team with 21 points and three steals while Harrigan added 15 points and five assists. Ryan LaChacz had nine points and nine rebounds. Fedor finished with eight points.
    Brandon Grenier had 21 points and 12 rebounds for the Wildcats (8-7, 2-5 CSC-I) who had led 41-33 at the start of the fourth quarter. Justin Kranbuhl added 13 points.
    The Golden Bombers travel to Sherburne-Earlville Friday.

    COOPERSTOWN, N.Y. — The Cooperstown Redskins outscored Mt. Markham 22-17 in the fourth quarter Wednesday and defeated the Mustangs 57-53.
    Ethan Bliss hit five tree-point shots for the Redskins (8-5, 7-2 CSC-III) and scored 17 points. Jordan Manikas added 13 points and Sawyer Haney scored 10.
    Nate Hudson’s 16 points led the Mustangs (4-10, 4-4 CSC-III). Josh Holtham and Kris Pontero each scored 10.
    Mt. Markham plays at Westmoreland Friday.

    SAUQUOIT, N.Y. — The Morrisville-Eaton Warriors held Sauquoit Valley to 16 pointe before halftime then held on to beat the Indians 56-51.
    The Warriors (10-4, 7-1 CSC-III) had only two field goals in the fourth quarter but went 10-for-10 at the foul line to seal the win. Will Thomas scored 11 of his game-high 31 points at the foul line for Morrisville-Eaton and Matt Roher added 18 points.
    Brady Murphy and Collin Jackson each scored 15 points for Sauquoit Valley (7-7, 3-5 CSC-III) and Rob Slivinski added 10.
