In three sentences, explain what you enjoy most about your sport and athletics.
What I enjoy most about track and field is being cheered on by my whole team. Hearing everyone yelling my name pushes me even harder to win or to improve my time. Track is an individual sport as much as it is a team sport. Finally, the friendships you form as an athlete can last a lifetime.
What is your most memorable athletic moment?
I’d say my most memorable athletic moment was playing Notre Dame in football. It was a huge game and we were winning. I feel I played the best game of my life. The cheers from the Little Falls fans pushed our team to play their best. Even though we lost, it was the best game of my football career. As a team we were so proud of ourselves because we knew we played our hardest.
Someone who inspires you in sports and why?
The person who inspires me the most in sports is my brother Barry. He inspired me most in football. I wanted to be just like him and play just like him. It was hard because I think coaches and fans expect to see those abilities in younger brothers and sisters. When Barry came to our games, it would push me to play harder. What a feeling when your brother is proud of how you play.
What are your greatest challenges balancing academics and sports?
I think sports are an important part in a student’s life, but academics come first. Being able to stay on top of my work and not fall behind is a huge challenge. I try to complete assignments and study for exams during free time in school. I also work late most week nights after practice and games.
What are your plans after graduating from high school?
I plan to attend SUNY Oneonta and major in Geology. I’m also planning to run track at Oneonta.
