    The Sauquoit Valley Indians sealed Friday’s 22-16 victory with a late interception against Mohawk.

    The Sauquoit Valley Indians sealed Friday’s 22-16 victory with a late interception against Mohawk.
    Mohawk (1-5, 1-3 D East) trailed 22-8 in the fourth quarter before quarterback Carson Murphy ran 47 yards for a touchdown then threw a two-point conversion pass to Mckensy Reardon.
    The Mohicans got the ball back and were driving again before Justin Dempsey intercepted his second pass of the game for the Indians (4-2, 3-1 D East).
    Murphy ran for 105 yards and passed for 87. The Mohicans scored first in the first quarter on an 18-yard pass from Murphy to Reardon, Murphy ran in the conversion for an 8-0 lead.
    Alec Voce, who ran for 104 yards on 17 carries, had touchdown runs of 27 and five yards to put Sauquoit valley up 14-8 at halftime. Conner O’Neill ran for a touchdown in the fourth quarter and finished with 122 yards on 21 carries.
    Mohawk finishes the regular season at home Friday with a game against New York Mills. The Indians travel to Cooperstown Saturday.
