    Comedy pioneer Phyllis Diller has died at age 95.

    "It seems to me first of all, from what I understand from doctors, that's really rare. If it's a legitimate rape, the female body has ways to try to shut that whole thing down." Missouri Republican Senate candidate Todd Akin on why he opposes abortion even in cases of rape. He resisted calls Monday to withdraw from the race. Akin has since backed off the comment, saying he "misspoke," and he apologized for the remark Monday. 
    Hot video: Neither party has advantage on health care
    In 2006 and 2008, voters trusted Democrats more than the GOP to handle the issue of health care. In 2010, after the president's health care law was passed, voters placed more trust in the Republicans.
