  • Dear Michael: When are you too old for a bikini?

  • How old is too old for a bikini? I have always worn one, but as a woman approaching 30, I’m beginning to wonder if I am too old. When do you think enough is enough with bikinis?

  • Dear Michael,
How old is too old for a bikini? I have always worn one, but as a woman approaching 30, I’m beginning to wonder if I am too old. When do you think enough is enough with bikinis?
    Sincerely,
    Too Old?

    Dear Miss Too Old,
I’m usually of the mindset that you’re only as old as you feel, however, I also like the idea of aging gracefully. I think that after 35, you may want to start thinking about a stunning one-piece, or even a tankini. Both these kinds of bathing suits can be flattering, sexy and age appropriate. Think of how cool a retro one piece will be in place of the same bikini that everyone else at the beach is wearing.

    Dear Michael,
I recently moved into my own place, and I hate how bare it looks. I am on a pretty tight budget, but I love style. Do you have any tips for home decorating on a shoestring budget and in a small space?
    Sincerely,
    Style on a Budget

    Dear Miss Style,
Anyone can have a stylish place – size and budget doesn’t exclude you from having a stylish space. My advice is to decorate a little at a time so you don’t break your bank. Always look for sales on home goods too, so that you can get some great items at a discount. You should also check out consignment shops, sometimes they have some really cool, retro pieces for a steep discount. Over time, your apartment will become the envy of all your friends and neighbors.
    Love,
    Your Diva Michael

    Dear Michael,
I recently got shellac on my nails, and I got impatient and picked it all off. Now my nails are weak and thin. I just want my old nails back, what can I do?
    Sincerely,
    Nail Regret

    Dear Miss Regret,
Girlfriend, what were you thinking? They make nail polish remover for a reason. You should have gone to a nail salon to have it taken off, or at the very least, used nail polish remover. Peeling away anything on your nails is never a good idea. At this point, the best you can do is wait it out. Fingernails grow pretty quickly, so you won’t have to wait too long. Get some nail strengthening polish to help keep them from breaking. Other than that, throw on some polish and wait it out, girlfriend. Stop picking at those nails!
    Love,
