  • In the news: In the wake of the Colorado shootings, President Barack Obama on Wednesday night talked about gun violence. He didn't talk much about gun rights, but he did say, "I also believe that a lot of gun owners would agree that AK-47s belong in the hands of soldiers, not in the hands of criminals. That they belong on the battlefield of war, not on the streets of our cities." Obama said he supports the Second Amendment but that work is needed to prevent violence like what happened in Colorado. 
    Happening today: Men’s Olympic soccer kicks off today. The U.S. isn’t playing, but there are some good teams in these games. Games are on NBC Sports Network and NBC Olympic Soccer Channel and at http://www.nbcolympics.com.
