    Meghan Carlo came within an out of no-hitting Little Falls Saturday inn the Oriskany Redskins’ 3-0 win at Veterans Memorial Park.



    Kelli Shepardson’s clean single to left field with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning was the lone hit for the Mounties.

    Meghan Carlo came within an out of no-hitting Little Falls Saturday inn the Oriskany Redskins’ 3-0 win at Veterans Memorial Park.
    Kelli Shepardson’s clean single to left field with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning was the lone hit for the Mounties. Carlo struck out 12 batters and walked two — Ashley Giaquinto in the first inning and Shepardson in the fifth.
    Alyssa Balfe had two of the three hits for Oriskany, ranked fifth in the state in Class D, and drove in two runs. Balfe singled leading off the second inning and scored the first run of the game. She added a two-run single with two outs in sixth inning.
    Amy Hart struck out six Redskins and walked none.
