  • Mr. William L. Cole, 77, of Reid Street, Fort Plain, New York, passed away on Friday, May 3, 2013, at his home.
Born on February 13, 1936, in Fort Plain, NY, he was the son of Leland and Jane Dievendorf Cole.
God looked around His garden and saw an empty place. He then looked down from Heaven and saw your tired face. He put His arms around you and took you in his care. To make up all you suffered, He wanted you up there. It broke our hearts to see you go, but you didn't go alone. For part of us went with you, the day God took you home. God saw you getting tired; the cure was not to be. So He put His arms around you; and whispered "William Lee Cole, come home with Me".
With tearful eyes we watched you, we saw you pass away. Although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hardworking hands at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best.
With loving memory from your family, daughter, Kelly S. and Jeff Hennings; granddaughter, Katelyn N. Hennings; daughter, Deborah Cole; granddaughter, Corinna; son, Leland Cole; brother, Albert and sister-in-law, Jean Cole; nephews, Jeffrey, Michael and Tony; great-niece, Shayla; and great-nephews, Lucas and David.
Services are private and will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are entrusted to Gray-Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home, 34 Center Street, Fort Plain, NY 13339.
Contributions in memory of Mr. William L. Cole may be made to the Fort Plain VFW, Earl Stock Memorial Post #3275, 30 River Street, Fort Plain, NY 13339.
