  • Daniel M. Pazzanese, age 83, a Little Falls resident of 42 years, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012, at Little Falls Hospital, with the love and support of his family.
He was born in Marlboro, Mass., on April 8, 1929, the son of the late Francesco and Angelina (Scorzelli) Pazzanese. He was a graduate of Marlboro High School and the University of St. Francis in Loretto, Pa., with a bachelor’s degree in business. He then enlisted in and was honorably discharged from the United States Army and served during the Korean Conflict in Trieste, Italy. Dan was united in marriage on Nov. 26, 1955, to Ruth Manning at Immaculate Conception Church in Marlboro, Mass., sharing 56 years of love, companionship and mutual respect. Dan came to Little Falls, working as a plant manager for Salada Foods and, for the past 37 years, he was the owner and operator of Ann Street Liquors along with his wife, Ruth. He was extremely motivated and instrumental in the growth of the city of Little Falls and worked for over 10 years as the director of Urban Renewal for the city.
Dan held memberships with the Little Falls Elks Lodge, DeCarlo-Staffo Post, the American Legion of Little Falls, the Polish Community Home, the Little Falls Municipal Golf Course and Holy Family Parish. A genuine kind, gentle and easy-going man, Dan enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. His favorite pastime was golfing, always working to “perfect his swing.”
He is survived by his beloved wife, Ruth, of Little Falls; his sons, Daniel Pazzanese and wife, Cheryl, of Tewksbury, Mass., and Stephen Pazzanese and wife, Shelly, of Little Falls; his daughters, Ellen Fiorentino and husband, Carlo, and Elizabeth Tracy and companion, Douglas Wein, all of Little Falls; his cherished grandchildren, Michael and Kristopher Pazzanese and Meghan Tracy; a sister, Ann Lucci, of Yarmouth, Mass.; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a sister, Emmy Maslowski, and a brother, John Pazzanese.
In lieu of floral arrangements, memorial contributions may be made in Dan’s memory to Holy Family Parish, Little Falls, or the city of Little Falls Municipal Golf Course. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 24 W. Monroe St., Little Falls (823-2424), from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2012. His funeral service will commence on Thursday, Oct. 11, 2012, at 10:15 a.m. from the funeral home and at 11 a.m. at Holy Family Parish, corner of John and East Main streets, Little Falls, where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated by Father Thomas Lawless, pastor. Procession will then follow to St. Mary’s Cemetery, town of Herkimer, where he will be laid to rest.
The Little Falls American Legion and Decarlo-Staffo posts will gather at the funeral home at 6 p.m. on Wednesday evening for services and the Little Falls Elks Lodge will gather at 6:30 p.m. for their memorial service.
