  • The deciding game of the Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs' playoff series agaist the Amsterdam Mohawks has been postponed from Sunday to Monday because of the threat of severe weather.
The DiamondDawgs and Mohawks are tied at 1 in the best-of-three series and will now play Monday at 7:05 p.m. at Shuttleworth Park. Jesse Buratt is scheduled to pitch for Mohawk Valley against Amsterdam's Mark Leiter Jr.
Monday's winner advances to the championship series which begins Tuesday against the Glens Falls Golden Eagles. Glens Falls swept two games against Newark and would play at home against the DiamondDawgs in Game 1; Amsterdam would host Tuesday's game if it were to advance.
