  • GIRLS' SOCCER: Little Falls wins 2-0 in Dolgeville


    Sarah Bruins scored both goals Monday as the Little Falls Mounties defeated Dolgeville’s Blue Devils 2-0 at Hilltop.

    Sarah Bruins scored both goals Monday as the Little Falls Mounties defeated Dolgeville’s Blue Devils 2-0 at Hilltop.
    Bruins had an unassisted goal in each half for the Mounties (5-4-1, 3-2-1 CSC-II) and now has five goals in her last two matches, including three Saturday against Frankfort-Schuyler.
    Ashley Giaquinto made seven saves in the shutout for Little Falls.
    Kaylie Darling had nine saves for Dolgeville (3-6-0, 1-4-0 CSC-II).
    Dolgeville travels to Herkimer for a match Wednesday while Little Falls plays at Mohawk.
    EAST HERKIMER, N.Y. — The Herkimer Magicians took a 2-0 lead before halftime Monday and defeated the Frankfort-Schuyler Maroon Knights 3-2.
    Ashley Fahy scored unassisted and Lillie Williams sent a long aerial off the wing with an assist form Caitlyn Roorda in the first half for the Magicians (5-4-1, 3-3-0 CSC-II). Maddie Renshaw added a goal in the second half off a throw-in from Williams to put Herkimer up 3-1 at home.
    Alexis Bianchi scored the first goal for Frankfort-Schuyler (3-6-0, 2-5-0 CSC-II) and assisted on the second. Simone Palumbo had the team’s other goal and Olivia Tamburro contributed an assist.
    Chelsea Jory had three saves for Herkimer while Cassandra Grippe made five for the Maroon Knights.
    Herkimer hosts Dolgeville Thursday and Frankfort-Schuyler travels to West Canada Valley.
    WEST CANADA VALLEY 1, MOHAWK 0, overtime
    MOHAWK, N.Y. — Alexis Fauvelle scored in overtime Monday and the West Canada Valley Indians defeated Mohawk 1-0 for their third win against the Mohicans this season.
    Shannon Phillips assisted on Fauvelle’s goal. Courtney Phillips earned the shutout with 17 saves.
    Alicia Ceneviva made 22 saves for Mohawk.
    Mohawk is home Wednesday for a game against Little Falls. West Canada Valley takes on Frankfort-Schuyler at home Wednesday.
    WESTMORELAND, N.Y. — Mikayla Blumenstock scored both goals Monday in the undefeated Poland Tornadoes’ 2-0 win over the Westmoreland Bulldogs.
    Tara Seigle had assists on both goals for Poland (9-0-0, 4-0-0 CSC-IV). Courtney Green was called upon to make two saves in the shutout.
    Alexa McGregor had 10 saves for Westmoreland (3-6-0, 1-4-0 CSC-IV).
    The Tornadoes are on the road again for Thursday’s match against Remsen.
    REMSEN, N.Y. — Erin O’Connor had five goals and two assists Monday in the Remsen  Rams’ 9-1 win over the Oriskany Redskins.
    The Rams (9-1-0, 5-0-0 CSC-IV) led 6-0 at halftime. Ashley O’Connor added two goals and an assist, Blake Brand had a goal and an assist and Ali Atwell-Charzik scored a goal. Brittany Waterbury contributed two assists while Elisha Hamilton had one. Goalkeeper Megan Will made seven saves.
    Page 2 of 2 - Taylor Watson scored for Oriskany (3-6-1, 0-4-0 CSC-IV) with an assist from Caitlin Carlo. Breanna Bouska made 26 saves and Kelsey Mayo had five.
    Remsen takes on Poland at home Thursday.
    WEST WINFIELD, N.Y. — Julie Dykstra scored the lone goal Monday in the Cooperstown Redskins’ 1-0 win over the Mt. Markham Mustangs.
    Dykstra scored with an assist from Sarah Jane Morosko 23 minutes into the first half.
    Angela Bartlett made nine saves for the Mustangs (2-6-2, 1-4-1 CSC-II) while Katie
    Kleban had 13 in the shutout for Cooperstown (3-6-0).
    Mt. Markham takes on Hamilton at home Wednesday.
    RICHFIELD SPRINGS, N.Y. — Morris scored a goal less than one minute into Monday’s match and set an early tone for its 6-0 win over the Richfield Springs Indians.
    Liana Garry’s goal game 42 seconds into the match and was followed a short time later by a goal scored by Alexis Forgit for the undefeated Mustangs (9-0-1, 9-0-0 TVL). Morris led 3-0 at halftime and got two goals from Kelsea Webster and one each from Haley Wist and Amanda Flint. Katie Humphries was credited with one save in the shutout.
    Vanessa Miller had 11 saves for Richfield Springs.
