  • Elizabeth (Betty) A. Herringshaw, 93, of 74 W. Main St., Mohawk, passed away Saturday, March 16, 2013, at Valley Health Services, Herkimer, where she had been a resident since January of this year.

  • Elizabeth (Betty) A. Herringshaw, 93, of 74 W. Main St., Mohawk, passed away Saturday, March 16, 2013, at Valley Health Services, Herkimer, where she had been a resident since January of this year.
    She was born on June 5, 1919, in Little Falls, the daughter of the late Glenn and Myrtle (Van Evera) Rickard. She was a graduate of Little Falls High School class of 1937.
    She was united in marriage to her husband of 49 years, Arthur Herringshaw, on September 16, 1950, in Adams, MA. Mr. Herringshaw predeceased her on April 5, 1999.
    Mrs. Herringshaw was employed at one time for the former Melrose Shoe Co., Little Falls. She was last employed as a wheel lacer for the former H.P. Snyder Mfg. Co., Little Falls, retiring in 1976.
    She is survived by her stepson, Bernard Herringshaw (Joann), New York, and stepdaughter, Arlene Randall (Richard), North Carolina; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters, Vera Miner and Vivian Smith; and brothers, Gordon and Olin Rickard.
    Graveside services will be held at Salisbury Rural Cemetery, Town of Salisbury, at a time and date to be announced later in the spring.
    Arrangements are by the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls. There are no calling hours.
