    - The London Olympics kick off Wednesday with a slate of women’s soccer games (the U.S. plays France this day), but the opening ceremonies don’t take place until Friday. Men’s soccer begins on Thursday, without the U.S. being represented. See the schedule of Olympic events here.
    - The big movies opening this week are “The Watch,” an R comedy starring Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn, Jonah Hill and Richard Ayoade; and “Step Up Revolution,” a PG-13 movie in the “Step Up” franchise.
    - Sunday is the anniversary of NASA’s founding. The space agency was created on July 29, 1958, when President Dwight D. Eisenhower signed into law the bill creating the administration.
