  • Rotary Club to roast area mayors

  • The Rotary Club of Herkimer will host its second annual Roast on Thursday, June 7, at Francesca’s Banquets and Catering at 144 E. Main St., Ilion.

    The volunteer roastees are Herkimer Mark Ainsworth, Ilion Mayor John Stephens, Frankfort Mayor Frank Moracco and Mohawk Mayor Irene Sweet.

  • The Rotary Club of Herkimer will host its second annual Roast on Thursday, June 7, at Francesca’s Banquets and Catering at 144 E. Main St., Ilion.
    The volunteer roastees are Herkimer Mark Ainsworth, Ilion Mayor John Stephens, Frankfort Mayor Frank Moracco and Mohawk Mayor Irene Sweet.
    The roast is intended to be a fun filled event full of laughter.
    The event will feature a 50/50 raffle, cash bar, dinner buffet and desert. The doors will open at 5:30 p.m. for a cocktail hour and the event will begin at 6 p.m.
    Tickets are $25 in advanced and will be $27.50 at the door. Tickets are available at the Mohawk, Herkimer and Frankfort clerk’s offices, NBT Bank in Herkimer, Skinner Sales in Herkimer, Skinner and Damulis in Richfield Springs, Sorrento’s Pizzeria in Ilion, Maria’s Jewelry and Mohawk Medical Supply in Mohawk and Audrey Dunning’s law office in Ilion.

    Rotary’s 1.2 million members start with a commitment to “Service Above Self.” There are more than 34,000 clubs worldwide. Members volunteer in communities at home and abroad to support education and job training, provide clean water, combat hunger, improve health and sanitation and eradicate polio. Proceeds earned from the roast will benefit the Rotary Club of Herkimer.
