    The Herkimer Magicians wiggled out of jam in the top of the fifth and broke Wednesday’s game open in the bottom of the inning on the way to a 10-0 win over the Dolgeville/Oppenheim-Ephratah Blue Devils.

    The Herkimer Magicians wiggled out of jam in the top of the fifth and broke Wednesday’s game open in the bottom of the inning on the way to a 10-0 win over the Dolgeville/Oppenheim-Ephratah Blue Devils.
    McKenzie Pine pitched a five-hit shutout with five strikeouts for the undefeated Magicians. Trailing 2-0, the Blue Devils loaded the bases against her in the fifth inning and left them full when Pine fielded a ground ball for the final out of the inning.
    A series of errors led to six Herkimer runs in the bottom of the fifth.
    Shellbi Morris doubled and scored for Herkimer in the second inning and Rachel Waseleski hit a long home run to left-center in the third to give the Magicians, ranked 13th in the state in Class C, a 2-0 lead.
    Waseleski had two hits and scored three runs. Sarah Kinney had two hits, two runs batted in and two runs scored and Alyssa Schiavi had two hits and three runs batted in. Morris scored two runs.
    Kristen Lansburg had two hits for Dolgeville/Oppenheim-Ephratah.

    LITTLE FALLS 3, FRANKFORT-SCHUYLER 1
    FRANKFORT, N.Y. — Kelli Shepardson drove in two of Little Falls’ three runs Wednesday in the Mounties’ 3-1 win over the Frankfort-Schuyler Maroon Knights.
    Frankfort-Schuyler scored first in the second inning. Little Falls came back with two runs in the fourth to take the lead. A walk and an error put two Mounties on base before Ashley Giaquinto scored on a passed ball and Gen Schoff scored on a single by Shepardson.
    Shepardson added an RBI in the sixth inning Jenna Becker, who had walked, scored on her double.
    Haleigh Welch scored the lone Frankfort-Schuyler run. She drew a walk leading off the second inning and scored on an error on a ground ball hit by Katie Raab.
    Frankfort-Schuyler pitcher Alyssa Burke struck out eight batters and walked three. She allowed four hits, two to Shepardson and two to Kaitlyn Duesler.
    Mountie Amy Hart had seven strikeouts and two walks.
    Jamie Zipko had two hits for the Maroon Knights.

    Page 2 of 2 - NEWPORT, N.Y. — Winning pitcher Audrey Bunce went 4-for-4 Wednesday with three runs batted in and two runs scored as the Mohawk Mohicans defeated the West Canada Valley Indians 8-2.
    Bunce also scattered four hits from the circle for the victors as Mohawk settled the score for an 11-3 loss at home in an earlier meeting.
    Lexy Johnson three hits and scored three runs for Mohawk.

    BOONVILLE, N.Y. — Adirondack Wildcat Elizabeth Riegler pitched a no-hitter Wednesday in a 17-0 win against Ilion’s Golden Bombers.
    Riegler struck out nine Ilion batters and walked one.
    Adirondack pounded 21 hits in the victory and scored in each inning but one. Crystal Gydesen homered twice and drove in five runs. Gydesen, Kyle Kaiding and Eliza Mathis each had three hits. Kaiding scored four runs.
    Emily Lee also homered for Adirondack and Lexi Charbonneau had two of the team’s five doubles.
