  • Leslie Beth Clohecy, 53, of Center Street, St. Johnsville, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, July 3, 2012, at Bassett Hospital, Cooperstown. Her faith in the risen Christ never wavered.
Beth was born Dec. 21, 1958, to Will and Norma (Salmon) Clohecy at Mather Air Force Base, Sacramento, Calif. Beth attended St. Johnsville schools, graduating with the class of 1977. She attended Fulton-Montgomery Community College as an early admission student and went on to Herkimer County Community College and graduated SUNY at Oneonta.
Her last employment was as a pharmacy technician at Kinney's Drugs in St. Johnsville. Previously, she worked for nearly ten years at the Utica Zoo as curator of education, a position she dearly loved.
She enjoyed anything Scots in print or film. One of the highlights of her life was traveling to Scotland some years ago. One of her ancestors was knighted by Robert the Bruce. She was a gifted vocalist and sang in her church choir and for many weddings and other social events.
Beth attended Grace Christian Church since the age of three and participated in many church activities over the years.
Survivors include her mother, Norma (Salmon) Clohecy; a stepsister, Pamela Oshea, step nephew, Thane (Kate) Matthews and their son, Michael, all of Arizona; a cherished great-aunt, Elizabeth (Edwin) Blake, of Vernon, and their family, Robert (Rebecca) Blake, of Columbus, Ohio, and Janice (Roger) Lacey, of Richford; and other close relatives include Richard (Marilyn) Countryman and their family of Rome, as well as Ernest (Kristian) Salmon of Thousand Oaks, Calif., and Ruth (William) VanDyke of Vestal, and their family. Beth was blessed with many caring friends, notably Beth Close of St. Johnsville, Hollie Majka of Marcy, Deanna Young of Gloversville and Tina Nabinger of Manlius.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Vincent A. Enea Funeral Service, 20 Bridge St., St. Johnsville. Friends and relatives are invited to attend a memorial service on Saturday, July 14, 2012, at 11 a.m. at the Grace Christian Church, with Reverend Harry J. Teuchert officiating. Burial will follow at St. Johnsville Cemetery. A luncheon will follow at Grace Church Fellowship Hall.
