Fred was born in Little Falls on Dec. 7, 1951; the son of Ruth Irene (Johnson) Burchell and the late Fred E. Burchell. During his childhood years, he and his family lived in West Monroe, La., returning to the Stratford area where he was a graduate of Stratford Central School. On Aug. 30, 1991, Fred was united in marriage to JoAnn Hart.

His family will treasure the furniture that he made especially for them. He enjoyed hunting and tending to his vegetable garden. As a teenager and into his young adult years, he took pleasure in helping his grandparents with their farm until their passing.
