    Bryan McGuire pitched three-hitter Friday in the Herkimer Magicians’ 7-2 win over West Canada Valley’s Indians.

    Bryan McGuire pitched three-hitter Friday in the Herkimer Magicians’ 7-2 win over West Canada Valley’s Indians.
    McGuire did not walk a batter and limited West Canada Valley to single runs in the third and sixth innings.
    Gio Aceto singled, doubled and drove in three runs for the Magicians. McGuire had two of Herkimer’s nine hits.

    DOLGEVILLE, N.Y. — Chris Nicotera allowed four hits and took a shutout into the seventh inning Friday and the Frankfort-Schuyler Maroon Knights defeated Dolgeville/Oppenheim-Ephratah 7-2.
    Nicotera struck out six batters. Dave Aiello and Joe DeSarro each had two of the seven Frankfort-Schuyler hits.
    David Levey had a pair of hits for Dolgeville/Oppenheim-Ephratah.

    ILION 6, UTICA-NOTRE DAME 5
    SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Tim Nicolette went 3-for-4 at the plate and earned his first pitching victory of the season Friday in the Ilion Golden Bombers’ 6-5 win against Notre Dame of Utica at Alliance Bank Stadium.
    Nicolette pitched into the sixth inning and struck out five Jugglers while allowing five hits. Notre Dame scored twice in the top of the sixth but Tyler Brien came in to record the final five outs and a save for the Golden Bombers.
    Ilion loaded the bases in the first inning and scored its first two runs on a double by Brian Maine. Brian came home on a passed ball and Maine scored when Ryan Gookins grounded out for the second out of the inning.
    Notre Dame got a run in the top of the second Ilion came back with two to take a 6-1 lead in the bottom of the inning. Nicolette led off with a triple and scored on a ground ball off the bat of Travis Murray. Brien later drove in a run  with a double.
    The Jugglers added single runs in the third and fourth innings and trailed 6-3 entering the sixth. Nicolette walked two batters with one out and the Jugglers scored twice on wild pitches before Brien ended the inning with a strikeout. Brien fanned two more batters in the seventh.
    Brien had two hits in the game.

    SHARON SPRINGS, N.Y. — Rob Jaikin drove in six runs for St. Johnsville Friday in the Saints’ 11-4 win over the Sharon Springs Spartans.
    Jaikin had three of the 13 hits for St. Johnsville which put three runs up in the first inning and never trailed. Johnny Vicciarelli had a triple among his three hits and Dylan Klock had two singles and a double.
    Vicciarelli pitched a complete game with 11 strikeouts to earn his third win of the spring.
    Nick Roach doubled and singled for the Spartans.

    BERNE, N.Y. — Ben Geist pitched a two-hitter for Berne-Knox-Westerlo Friday and the Bulldogs defeated Canajoharie’s Cougars 8-3.
    Geist struck out seven and the Bulldogs supported him with five runs in the second inning to take the lead. At the plate, Geist had had two triples and drove in a run.
