    The Canajoharie Cougars clinched the Western Athletic Conference’s North Division title Friday with a 46-41 win at Mayfield.
    Under the guidance of first-year varsity coach Phil Schoff Jr., the Cougars (12-2, 9-1 WAC North) have won nine consecutive games. They shared the North Division title with Fort Plain last year under Rick Palumbo.
    Mayfield (7-6, 5-5 WAC North) led Friday’s game by four points before being outscored 13-4 in the fourth quarter. Josh Gonzalez led Canajoharie with 11 points while Zach Folts and Kevin Shannon each scored nine.
    Ryan Hennessy had 13 points, Lucas VanNostrand scored 12 and Dylan Toscano added 10 for Mayfield.

    ST. JOHNSVILLE, N.Y. — The St. Johnsville Saints scored 29 points in the first half of Friday’s 61-28 victory over winless Galway.
    The Saints (6-5, 5-4 WAC North) outscored the Golden Eagles 20-5 in the first quarter and 19-6 in the second. Alex Hart scored 15 points to lead St. Johnsville and Dylan Klock added 13.
    Dylan Gregory and Andrew Izzo each had nine points for Galway (0-14, 0-10 WAC North).

    FRANKFORT, N.Y. — Joe McKinney and Adrian Viscomi each scored 16 points for Herkimer Friday in the Magicians’ 59-53 win over the Frankfort-Schuyler Maroon Knights.
    The Magicians (4-9, 3-3 CSC-II) led by two points at halftime and four after three quarters on the road. Demetrius Brown scored 11 points for Herkimer.
    Mark Spina’s 17 points led Frankfort-Schuyler (2-10, 1-5 CSC-II). Richard Morocco added 12 points and Mitch Shortt scored 10.
    Herkimer defeated Frankfort-Schuyler by the same six-point margin — 62-56 — at home Dec. 11.

    MOHAWK, N.Y. — The Mohawk Mohicans got 30 points from Carson Murphy Friday and defeated Dolgeville 75-42.
    The Mohicans (13-1, 6-0 CSC-II) led 36-16 at halftime and kept their record perfect in league play by winning their 12th consecutive game. Murphy had 14 rebounds, six assists and four steals in addition to his game-high point total. Kainan McCarthy added 12 points, eight rebounds and two blocked shots while Mitchell Werenczak had nine points and seven rebounds.
    Bryce Dineen led Dolgeville (0-12, 0-6 CSC-II) with 10 points.

    POLAND, N.Y. — The Poland Tornadoes overcame 25 Dave Sblendorio points Friday and defeated the Rome Catholic Redwings 57-54.
    Ross Agen scored 19 points to lead Poland (6-6, 3-3 CSC-IV) which led 31-23 at halftime. Mark Shelhamer added 11 points and Austin Dexter scored eight.
    Connor Marchione scored 11 points for the Redwings (8-4, 4-3 CSC-IV).

    RICHFIELD SPRINGS, N.Y. — The Richfield Springs Indians got back on the winning track with Friday’s 48-38 victory over Cherry Valley-Springfield’s Patriots.
    The Indians (9-2, 6-2 TVL) shook off their first two losses of the season and led 23-3 at the end of the opening period. The Indians’ halftime lead was 27 points on their home court.
    Lucas VanRiper scored 16 points to lead Richfield Springs while Keegan Wheelock-Tanner had 11.
    Wyatt Crowley scored 12 points for Cherry-Valley-Springfield (7-4, 4-3 TVL). Two of the Patriots’ four losses have been against Richfield Springs; the Indians won 48-30 when the teams met Dec, 29 in a holiday tournament in Cherry Valley.
