The Herkimer County Hunger Coalition will sponsor a benefit bowling tournament on Saturday, Feb. 16, at R.D.’s Gorge View Lanes in Little Falls.
The format will be a two-person best ball with handicap. There will be two divisions, one for bowlers younger than 55 years of age and the other for bowlers 55 years of age and older.
The handicap will be 100 percent of 220 and the cost will be $15 per person.
The three available squads are noon, 2:30 and 5 p.m.
To enter, sign up at Gorge View Lanes or call 823-3630.
Tournament coordinators are Kira Andrilla, Randy Dawley, Don Null and David Petkovsek.
“The money raised will go toward our winter coats for children campaign, specifically children from Benton Hall Academy in Little Falls,” said Herkimer County Hunger Coalition founder Ray Lenarcic. “Our goal is to provide coats by Halloween for all children who are part of the Gram Lorraine Children’s Christmas Clothing Program — over 1,000 were collected in eight schools in 2012.”
Donations are being accepted from the public for the project.
Those who wish to make a donation can send them to the Herkimer County Hunger Coalition at P.O. Box 622, Herkimer, NY 13350. Donations are tax deductible.
For more information, call 866-7765.
