Unsafe lane change leads to drug arrest

The New York State Police at Latham arrested Jaclyn Elthorp, 32, of Herkimer, for second-degree criminal possession of marijuana, a felony, on Oct. 3.
At 4:39 p.m. state police conducted a vehicle and traffic stop of Elthorp’s 2010 Dodge Avenger on Interstate-787 in the city of Albany after she made an unsafe lane change.
As a result of the vehicle and traffic stop, Elthorp was found to be in possession of approximately five pounds of marijuana, police said. Elthorp was arraigned before City of Albany Court Judge Rachel Kretser and was remanded to the Albany County Correctional Facility, police said.
