A state parolee is in jail without bail after being found with a large knife and resisting arrest, Herkimer police said.
At 1:23 a.m. Saturday, officers received a report that Curtis Rushing, 25, of King Street, was involved in a fight with another man at Pete’s Tavern, police said.
Officers learned that Rushing then returned home to get a knife and planned on going back to the tavern, police said.
When police found Rushing on North Main Street and stopped him, he attempted to flee, officers said. Officers then found a large knife in his pocket, police said.
Rushing has been charged with obstructing governmental administration, resisting arrest and criminal possession of a weapon, police said.
