ATV stop leads to drug arrest in Oppenheim

A vehicle and traffic stop of an all-terrain vehicle on State Route 29 in the town of Oppenheim led to the arrest of a St. Johnsville man.
Trooper Darin Jones stopped Seth T. Lynch, 29, for operating his three-wheeler on the roadway and found him to be in possession of marijuana, according to a news release.
Upon further investigation by state police, a search warrant was obtained for Lynch’s residence where more than a pound of processed marijuana was located, the release stated.
Investigators also seized marijuana plants, which were part of a hydroponic grow operation inside the residence, as well as marijuana plants growing outside the residence, the release stated. Illegal fireworks and a small amount of cash were also recovered during the search, the release stated.
Lynch was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, second-degree criminal possession of marijuana, unlawful growing of cannabis and unlawful possession of fireworks.
Lynch was arraigned in Oppenheim Town Court and was released on $1,000 cash bail.
