The Little Falls Mounties swept Thursday’s match with Ilion, defeating the Golden Bombers by scores of 27-25, 25-12 and 25-16.
Mike Izzo served seven aces for Little Falls (4-2) and had one kill; Mat Armlin had nine kills, one block and two assists; Vinny Visconti had nine assists, four aces and one kill; Kyle Barnes had five assists; and Mitchell Smith had three kills and one block.
Joey Kinch had five kills, three blocks, two aces and three digs for Ilion (1-6); Corey Fowler served three aces with five assists, two kills, one block and two digs; Chris Welch had three assists, two blocks and one kill; Tom Carnright had three kills and two digs; Elisha Carnright had two kills and two assists; and Ben Lester had two kills and one dig.
Little Falls was home Friday for a match against Westmoreland and travels Monday to take on Canastota. Ilion’s next match is Wednesday at home against Oneida.

EAST HERKIMER, N.Y. — The Vernon-Verona-Sherrill Red Devils were 3-0 winners Thursday over the Herkimer Magicians.
The Red Devils won 25-14, 25-13, 25-11 on the road.
Chris Burns had three kills, two blocks, two assists, one ace and three digs for Herkimer (0-6); Brett Baker had three blocks and one kill; Michael Stalteri had five assists and four digs; and Zack Rosenberger had eight digs, one kill and one ace.
Jacob Bitz had five kills, one block and two digs for Vernon-Verona-Sherrill (7-1); Josh Albro had six digs and served a pair of aces; Jarett Durant had four kills and one block; and Devin Vallee had eight assists and one kill.
Herkimer plays Monday at Oneida.
