Blue Devils sweep at Frankfort-Schuyler

FRANKFORT, N.Y. — The Frankfort-Schuyler Maroon Knights stretched Dolgeville out to five games on the road early in the season. There would be no such drama in Monday’s rematch as Dolgeville’s unbeaten Blue Devils swept their way to a 3-0 victory.

Neither Cassie Scharpou nor Marissa Mowers missed a serve for the Blue Devils as Dolgeville won by scores of 25-23, 25-20 and 25-17. Scharpou served 13-for-13 with a pair of aces and Mowers was 13-for-13 with one ace.

Lora Allen had 28 assists, five kills, two aces and eight digs for the Blue Devils (10-0, 7-0 CSC-I); Colleen Darby had eight kills, three blocks and three digs; Chelsie Petras had four kills and an assist; Deanna Drumm had two kills and nine digs; Tawny Boyer had one ace and seven digs; Katie Smith had two aces and a dig; Lexy Barretta and Brittany Rice each had two digs; Taylor Mykel had one kill and one dig; Scharpou had eight kills and 19 digs; and Mowers had eight kills, two assists and 11 digs.

Katie Maneen had 11 kills, eight assists, three aces and three digs for Frankfort-Schuyler (8-3, 5-3 CSC-I); Domenica DiNigro had five aces, two kills, an assist and nine digs; Leea Tripple had four kills and eight digs; and Ashlee Streeter had five assists, two kills and 10 digs.

Dolgeville was a 2-1 winner in junior varsity play. Heather Randall had four assists, two kills and two aces; Elizabeth Mosher and CharliRose Seeley each had had three aces and five digs; and Renee Johnson had three aces and two kills.

Next up for the Blue Devils is a match at home Wednesday against Herkimer.

OPPENHEIM-EPHRATAH 3, OLD FORGE 0

OPPENHEIM, N.Y. — The Oppenheim-Ephratah Hawks kept their record perfect in Center State Conference Division IV play with Monday’s 25-6, 25-20, 25-14 victory over Old Forge’s Eskimos.

Lindsay Ploss had six kills, five aces and two digs for the Hawks (11-2, 5-0 CSC-IV); Kathleen Damin had four aces, three kills and a block; Lisa McMillan had two aces and a dig; and Katherine Lynch had 17 assists, an ace and a dig.

Oppenheim-Ephratah plays on the road Wednesday at Westmoreland.

DOLGEVILLE, N.Y. — Barb Allen notched her 475th coaching victory Friday when the Dolgeville Blue Devils defeated Little Falls’ Mounties by scores of 25-13, 25-12 and 25-13.

Carissa Petras served 12-for-12 with six aces for the Blue Devils (9-0, 6-0 CSC-I) and had nine assists, two kills and three digs; Tawny Boyer served 12-for-12 with four aces and had five digs; Cassie Scharpou served 8-for-8 with three aces and had three kills and 12 digs; Marissa Mowers served 18-for-19 with four aces and had four kills and 11 digs; Colleen Darby had seven kills and three blocks; Lora Allen had five aces, nine assists and three digs; Deanna Drumm and Lexy Barretta each had a kill and a dig; Taylor Mykel had two kills and a dig; Chelsie Petras had seven kills, an assist and two digs; Brittany Rice had two aces and six digs; and Katie Smith had an assist and five digs.

Alicia Wainwright had six kills, an ace, two assists and seven digs for Little Falls (6-5, 4-3 CSC-I); Ashley Barnes had four kills and six digs; Maria Lorenzoni had five assists, two kills and three digs; and Michelle McGowan had four assists, one kill, one ace and three digs.

Dolgeville also swept the junior varsity match, winning in two games. Renee Johnson served eight aces for Dolgeville; Heather Randall served six aces; CharliRose Seeley had two aces and four kills; and Elizabeth Mosher had two digs.

OPPENHEIM, N.Y. — The Oppenheim-Ephratah Hawks swept through the New York Marauders Friday, winning by scores of 25-11, 25-10 and 25-17.

Katherine Lynch had 20 assists, seven aces, two kills and a dig for the Hawks (10-2, 4-0 CSC-IV); Lisa McMillan had seven aces and a dig; Lindsey Montana had four aces and three kills; Kathleen Damin had six kills, one block and three aces; and Lindsay Ploss had three kills, a block, two aces and two digs.

Alyssa Nicitera had two kills, an ace and three digs for the Marauders; Kayla Brittell had three kills and four assists; Ariel Rodrigues had five digs and a kill; and Amanda Patterman served two aces.
