LITTLE FALLS, N.Y. — Mike Nassar went 3-for-3 and drove in four runs from the leadoff spot Friday in Whitestown Post 1113’s 12-0 win over Little Falls Post 31 at Veterans Memorial Park.
Three Whitestown pitchers combined on a three-hit shutout that was cut to six innings. Starter Mike Bunal allowed one hit, walked two batters and struck out one in three innings. Rob Kelly allowed one hit, walked one batter and hit another in two innings and Ron Adamczyk allowed a hit and a walk in the sixth while also notching the team’s second strikeout of the evening.
Whitestown Post had three-run innings in the first and second then scored five times in the third. Dan Smith tripled home two runs in the first inning and Nassar hit two-run singles in the second and third.
Nassar scored two runs in addition to the four he drove home. Smith added two hits and scored twice.
Jabin Weaver, Patrick Shepardson and Devin Mannuzza had Little Falls Post’s hits. Weaver, the third pitcher for the home team, tossed a scoreless sixth inning, allowing one runner to reach base on an error and striking out one batter. Weaver, Mike Pointon and starter Evan Davis combined to strike out 10 Whitestown Post batters.
Little Falls Post has Herkimer County games on the road Monday at Herkimer Post 38 and Tuesday at Ilion Post 920.
