UTICA, N.Y. — The schedule has been set for three days of Section III championship competition at the Utica Memorial Auditorium Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
The Class C boys, the only split class in the 2010 playoffs, play a doubleheader Friday to set the matchup for next week’s overall title game. The girls play Saturday with the rest of the boys’ games Sunday.
Undefeated West Canada Valley continues its quest for a Class C-2 sectional championship in the nightcap of Friday’s doubleheader. Westmoreland, runner-up to West Canada Valley in the Center State Conference Division III race, takes on Tully at 6 p.m. in the Class C-1 game. West Canada Valley then meets Immaculate Heart of Watertown in Class C-2 with a tip-off time of approximately 7:45 p.m.
Play begins at noon Saturday with the Class B game between South Jefferson and Jordan-Elbridge. Cicero-North Syracuse and Corcoran of Syracuse meet in the 1:45 p.m. Class AA game. Notre Dame of Utica takes on Thousand Islands in the Class C game at 3:30 p.m., followed by Hamilton and New York Mills in the D game at 5:30 p.m. and Cortland and New Hartford in Class A at 7:15 p.m.
The boys’ schedule Sunday begins with The Class D game between New York Mills and the Syracuse Academy of Science at noon. The AA contest features Cicero-North Syracuse an Utica-Proctor at 1:45 p.m. with an all-Syracuse showdown between Westhill and Bishop Grimes in Class B at 3:45 p.m. and a 5:30 p.m. Class A game between Jamesville-DeWitt and Syracuse-Nottingham.
Admission is $5 each day.
