Herkimer County Community College General John LeClair has received a Rawlings Gold Glove for his play at shortstop this spring.

A redshirt sophomore and 2009 graduate of Mohawk High School, LeClair was the Division III honoree for the National Junior College Athletic Association.

A third-team American Baseball Coaches Association/Rawlings New York Region all-star at SUNYIT in 2011, LeClair transferred to Herkimer last fall as a criminal justice major. He posted a .936 fielding percentage at shortstop with 93 assists, 54 putouts and 10 errors.

“LeClair was often putting a highlight play in our memory throughout the year,” Herkimer coach Jason Rathbun said.

The leadoff hitter for the 33-11 Generals, LeClair batted .368 with 10 doubles, three triples and two home runs while succeed on 10 of his 13 stolen base attempts.
