WEST CANADA VALLEY 117, DOLGEVILLE 24
DOLGEVILLE, N.Y. — Ben Maxwell picked up where he left off Saturday with another record-breaking jump in the West Canada Valley Indians’ meet at Dolgeville.
Maxwell set a school record in the triple jump and won two other events in the unbeaten Indians’ 117-24 victory over Dolgeville’s Blue Devils.
Maxwell teamed up with Casey McEvoy to win the two-man triple jump competition at Saturday’s Fonda-Fultonville Relays and the tandem set a meet record in the process. Maxwell went 44 feet-5 inches on his own Tuesday and set a new West Canada Valley record with that jump. McEvoy finished second at 40 feet-11 inches, giving the pair a combined distance of 85 feet-4 inches, one inch further than Saturday’s record total.
Maxwell also won the long jump and the 100-meter dash Tuesday. Saladeem Booze (200 meters, 400 meters) and McKenzie Hartman (800 meters, 1,600 meters) each won a pair of races and six other Indians won individual events as West Canada Valley entered winners all but one event.
Dustin Ferguson won the discus and led a Dolgeville sweep in the event. Ferguson, Jared Pollard and Nick Hopson all threw over 100 feet.
