MOHAWK 0, DOLGEVILLE 0, tie

The Dolgeville Blue Devils and Mohawk Mohicans played to a scoreless draw in overtime Monday at the Tolpa Athletic Complex.

Abigail Mosenthin was credited with 17 saves in the shutout for Dolgeville while Alicia Ceneviva had 13 for Mohawk.

Each team had its share of chances both in regulation and in overtime. Ceneviva stopped Dolgeville’s Emily Young twice in the first half, jumping once to deflect a shot over the crossbar. Young also hit the crossbar with a shot in the second half and teammate Ashley Mettler rolled a shot across the open mouth of the goal with Ceneviva on the ground in overtime.

Mohawk’s Noel Newkirk caught the outside of the left post with a shot in the first overtime period. Late in the second half, the Mohicans had two cracks at the ball on one run at the goal; Mosenthin made the initial save and went to the ground before getting a hand on the ball on the second shot and swatting the ball away before Mohawk could put another foot to it.

Mohawk travels to Herkimer for its next match Thursday. Dolgeville, which plays at Remsen Tuesday, has a match Thursday at Frankfort-Schuyler.

MT. MARKHAM 3, HERKIMER 0

WEST WINFIELD, N.Y. — Angela Bartlett made 11 saves Monday and the Mt. Markham Mustangs shut Herkimer out 3-0 in the consolation match at the West Winfield Optimist Tournament.

Camden defeated Adirondack 6-0 in the championship match.

Tournament all-star Ashley Roys scored two goals and Alyssa LaPerla had one for the Mustangs. Emily Ward, Heather Curtin and Erica Cornmire each had an assist. Bridgett Wilcox joined Roys on the all-tournament team.

Chelsea Jory was credited with 10 saves for Herkimer.

Both teams play matches at home Thursday, Herkimer against Mohawk and Mt. Markham against Sauquoit Valley.

JOHNSTOWN 2, ST. JOHNSVILLE 0

JOHNSTOWN, N.Y. — Johnstown scored the tie-breaking goal late in the second half Monday and defeated the St. Johnsville Saints 2-1.

Diana Horning’s game-winning goal came inside the final 10 minutes of regulation play for Johnstown which had led 1-0 at halftime on a goal scored by Sam Loucks.

Rylie Smith scored the tying goal for St. Johnsville (4-7-0) in the eighth minute of play in the second half.

Ellen Praught made five saves for Johnstown and Leann Knapp had 17 for St. Johnsville.

The Saints are home Friday for a match against Mekeel Christian Academy.

MAPLE HILL 1, CANAJOHARIE 0

CASTLETON-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. — Maple Hill’s Wildcats won a tournament championship with a 1-0 victory Monday and dealt the Canajoharie Cougars their first defeat of the season.

Canajoharie, ranked 13th in Class C by NYSSCOGS, entered the Maple Hill Tournament’s championship match with an 11-0-0 record.

Alysha Cross scored the only goal Monday for the Wildcats. Anna Pulver made eight saves in the shutout.

Lauren Balfe had nine saves for Canajoharie and teammate Christina Towse was honored as the tournament’s defensive most valuable player.

Canajoharie next plays Friday at Galway.
