WATERVILLE 65, LITTLE FALLS 51

Jon Piersma scored 23 points for Waterville Thursday in the Indians’ 65-51 win over the Little Falls Mounties.

The win was the second for Waterville (12-1) against Little Falls this season. The Indians defeated the Mounties by a similar 68-49 score Dec. 4 in Little Falls. Thursday’s loss snaps a four-game winning streak for Little Falls (7-6).

Little Falls jumped ahead with a 19-point first quarter on the road Thursday but was outscored 38-16 in the second and third by the Indians who have won three games in a row since suffering their lone loss Jan. 16 to Class B Clinton.

Greg Elliott scored 11 points for Waterville and Jacob Murray had 10.

Tyler Baumeister led Little Falls with 19 points. Jesse Lonis scored 10.

Little Falls is home Saturday evening for a game against Center State Conference Division II-leading Mohawk; the game has been moved to a 6 p.m. start.

ILION 46, HOLLAND PATENT 44

HOLLAND PATENT, N.Y. — The Ilion Golden Bombers trailed at the start of the fourth quarter Thursday but rallied and defeated Holland Patent’s Golden Knights 46-44 on the road.

The Golden Bombers (10-4 5-2 CSC-I) outscored Holland Patent 16-9 in the fourth quarter and 25-15 in  the second half. Holland Patent (8-6, 4-4 CSC-I) had led by eight points at halftime and five after three quarters.

Herschel Ivey scored 29 points for Ilion which defeated Holland Patent for the second time this season.

Mike Strumpfler led the Golden Knights with 18 points.

Ilion next plays Wednesday at home against Adirondack.
