DOLGEVILLE, N.Y. — Juleah Vedder struck out 12 batters Wednesday and helped her own cause with a pair of two-run doubles in the Dolgeville Blue Devils’ 6-2 win over Mohawk.

The Blue Devils (5-4, 5-2 CSC-I) scored three runs in the first inning and three more in the second. Vedder had one of her doubles in each inning while Kassie Gonyea and Natasha Mamrosh each drove in a run for Dolgeville.

The Mohicans (5-5, 3-3 CSC-I) went scoreless into the fifth inning and scratched out single runs in the fifth and seventh.

Vedder walked two batters, hit one and allowed four hits. Kaylee Luppino had two of the Mohawk hits.

Marissa Mowers, Nicole Johnson, Gonyea and Vedder all had two hits for Dolgeville.

The Blue Devils travel to Boonville Friday for a 7 p.m. game against division-leading Adirondack.

LITTLE FALLS 9, ILION 2

ILION, N.Y. — A two-out Ilion error led to three runs in the first inning Wednesday and the Little Falls Mounties never looked back in a 9-2 win over the Golden Bombers.

Olivia Tooley reached base on the error and Sue Schoff drove her in with a double. Courtney Terzi followed with a two-run home run at the David P. Whalen Community Park to give Little Falls a 3-0 lead.

The Mounties (9-5, 4-3 CSC-I) built a 5-0 lead before Ilion got its first run in the bottom of the third. The lead was 9-1 when Ilion scored again in the sixth.

Schoff, Terzi, Carrin LaCopola and Alaina Demeree each had two of the 11 Little Falls hits and each drove in two runs. Nickie Van Meter struck out nine Ilion batters while walking three and allowing five hits.

Adrianna Carpenter had a pair of hits for Ilion (5-8, 2-6 CSC-I).

The loss leaves Ilion coach Pat Whalen one win shy of the 300th of his career.

The Mounties have home games scheduled under the Veterans Memorial Park lights Thursday against Mohawk and Friday against Herkimer.

HERKIMER 23, FRANKFORT-SCHUYLER 0

HERKIMER, N.Y. — Jackie Orcutt pitched a no-hitter Wednesday in the Herkimer Magicians’ 23-0 whitewashing of Frankfort-Schuyler.

Orcutt allowed neither a hit nor a walk while striking out nine batters. She hit two Maroon Knights with pitches and a third reached base on an error.

Anna Marosek and Shauna Mills homered for the Magicians. Marosek had three hits and five runs batted in and Kayla Krenichyn added three hits and three runs batted in.
