FORT PLAIN, N.Y. —
The Fort Plain Hilltoppers are home Tuesday as Section II’s baseball playoffs get under way.
Seeded third in a field of 16 Class C teams, the baseball Hilltoppers takes on Warrensburg at 4 p.m. Neighboring Canajoharie drew the 13th seed and travels to Lake George to begin the playoffs Tuesday.
Only eight teams are entered in the Class D baseball bracket which gets started Thursday with four quarterfinal contests. St. Johnsville, seeded seventh, plays at Salem.
Softball play starts Wednesday in Section II with Fort Plain and Canajoharie both hitting the road in Class C. Fort Plain has a game at Greenwich, the fifth seed, while Canajoharie takes on the fourth seed, Hoosick Falls.
Class D softball also has an eight-team field, affording No. 6 St. Johnsville a break until Friday’s quarterfinals when the Saints will play at Fort Ann.
