SOFTBALL -
Little Falls opened play in the Little Falls Family YMCA/Mudville 14-and-under softball league with a 9-5 victory over Frankfort in its first game Wednesday at the Mudville complex on Route 29 north of the village of Herkimer. Teams play split five-inning doubleheaders each Wednesday through the end of July with play beginning at 5 p.m. Herkimer and Ilion join Little Falls and Frankfort to make up the four-team league.
