Little Falls native Alie Dobrovolc celebrated her Senior Day Saturday by joining the 1,000-point club at the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts in the Trailblazers’ 80-67 victory over Framingham State University.
Dobrovolc, a 2008 graduate of Little Falls High School, scored 15 points for the Trailblazers (13-10, 6-4 MASCAC) and raised her career total to 1,011 over four seasons. She missed her first two attempts before hitting shots jumpers to get to the milestone. Her drive to the basket with 15:04 remaining in the first half gave her the magic number.
Dobrovolc joins classmate Jen Wehner in the 1,000-point club. Wehner, a Cooperstown High School graduate, had 29 points and 14 rebounds in Saturday’s win and claimed her fifth MASCAC player of the week award Monday.
Wehner, Dobrovolc and Lucy Tremblay had al of the MCLA points during a 26-8 run at the start of the game. Dobrovolc finished the game with four assists and five rebounds in addition to her 15 points.
Dobrovolc ranks second n the team in scoring (16.9 points per game) and rebounds (8.0 per game) behind Wehner. She is shooting 4.39 percent from the field and 75.2 percent from the foul line this season and leads the team with 88 assists.
The Trailblazers finish their MASCAC schedule on the road with game Tuesday at Fitchburg State University and Saturday afternoon at Bridgewater State University.
