Bowes, making his second varsity start on the mound, struck out 10 batters against the winless Mustangs.

POLAND, N.Y. — Winning pitcher Zack Green had two hits and an RBI for Westmoreland in Wednesday’s 2-1 duel with the Poland Tornadoes.
Poland’s Zak Cavoly struck out eight batters but was beaten by Green’s mound performance.
Trailing 2-0 in the bottom of the seventh inning, the Tornadoes broke up Green’s bid for a shutout. Justin Huckabone scored on a Bryce Wenzel single but Webnzel was stranded on base to end the game.
Ryan Hogan drove in the other run for Westmoreland.
