FORT PLAIN 44, NORTHVILLE 18

The Fort Plain Hilltoppers clinched the Western Athletic Conference’s North Division title outright Friday with a 44-18 win at home against Northville.

The Hilltoppers (13-1, 10-0 WAC North) remain unbeaten within the league and have won four games in a row following their lone loss to Middleburgh.

Fort Plain shot 33 free throws Friday and outscored Northville 17-2 from the charity stripe. Abby Boyer led the victors with 17 points while Haley Kilmartin scored 15 and Allehah Van Loan had 11.

Lyndsey Wadsworth scored 10 of the 18 points for Northville (5-8, 4-6 WAC North).

Fort Plain next plays Wednesday at Saratoga Catholic.

GALWAY 58, CANAJOHARIE 40

GALWAY, N.Y. — The Galway Golden Eagles stand alone in second place in the Western Athletic Conference’s North Division following Friday’s 58-40 win over the Canajoharie Cougars.

The teams entered Friday’s game tied for second behind Fort Plain which clinched the division title with its win over Northville. Friday’s win gives Galway a sweep of the Cougars, whom they had defeated 47-38 on the road earlier in the season.

Amanda Gould scored 12 points to lead Galway (9-5, 8-3 WAC North) while Erica Chase added 11 and Felicia Snyder had 10.

Jenelle Dillenbeck led Canajoharie (8-7, 7-4 WAC North) with nine points.

Canajoharie finishes league play Wednesday with a trip to St. Johnsville.
