The Herkimer Magicians avenged an earlier defeat Thursday when they beat the Frankfort-Schuyler Maroon Knights 44-28.

The Magicians (7-6, 3-3 CSC-II), winners of three games in a row and six of their last seven, were beaten 42-27 in Frankfort Dec. 12

Frankfort-Schuyler (7-6, 3-3 CSC-II) had the game’s first basket and led 4-2 before Herkimer made an 8-0 run and took the lead for good. Hannah DeLude scored 10 of her game--high 17 points in the first quarter to help the Magicians open a 15-6 lead.

The final 16-point margin matched Herkimer’s largest lead of the game and the Magicians’ defense surrendered a total of 11 points in the second half.

DeLude had three steals to go with her 17 points. Maxine Grogan added eight points and Chelsea Jory had seven points, 11 rebounds and seven blocked shots.

Danielle Migliore scored nine points and Alexis Bianchi had eight for the Maroon Knights.

Herkimer traveled to West Winfield Friday to make up a game postponed earlier in the week; the Magicians play at West Canada Valley Tuesday. Frankfort-Schuyler’s next game is Tuesday in Dolgeville.
