DOLGEVILLE 3, MOHAWK 1

The Dolgeville Blue Devils dropped one game at home Friday but recovered to beat Mohawk 3-1 and keep their record perfect in league play.

The Center State Conference Division II-leading Blue Devils won by scores of 23-25, 25-8, 25-16 and 25-15.

Ashley Mettler had 15 kills, six aces, 11 assists and five digs for Dolgeville (8-4, 5-0 CSC-II); Emily Young served nine aces with seven kills, a block, 18 assists and eight digs; Mikey Rubas had five aces, five kills and three digs; Kiersten Manchester had 14 digs and served one ace; Annabelle Lee had five aces, a kill and four digs; Rachael Randall had four aces and three digs; Taylor Brandow had four aces, three kills and a dig; Emily Briggs had two aces, two kills and a dig; Abby Mosenthin had three kills; Lindsey Kopet had two assists, one kill and one dig; and Courtney Rachon had two digs.

Noel Newkirk had three kills, three blocks, an ace and two assists for Mohawk (4-7, 3-2 CSC-II); Megan Connor had three kills, a block, an ace and five digs; Krista Couchman served three aces; and Marisa Holden had three kills, an assist and two digs.

Both teams play matches on the road Monday, Mohawk at Oppenheim-Ephratah and Dolgeville at Holland Patent.

MT. MARKHAM 3, COOPERSTOWN 1

COOPERSTOWN, N.Y. — The Mt. Markham Mustangs paid Cooperstown back for an earlier loss when they defeated the Redskins in four games Friday.

The 26-24, 23-25, 25-15, 25-22 win was the sixth in a row for the Mustangs who lost in four games at home to Cooperstown Dec. 10.

Emily Timian had 13 kills, two blocks and one assist for Mt. Markham (9-3, 3-3 CSC-III) and served 14-for-14 with one ace; Brianna Wichowsky had 28 assists, five aces and seven digs; Sam Kinne had seven kills, three aces and eight digs; Bridget Wilcox had 16 digs, three aces and two kills; Taylor Wool had seven digs and two aces; Alex Hoover had six kills; Kaleigh Bryce had three kills, one block, one ace and two digs; Courtney Thompson had three blocks, one kill and one dig; Olivia Thomson had seven digs; and Megan Wool had four digs.

The Mustangs next play Wednesday at Hamilton.

CANASTOTA 3, ILION 0

CANASTOTA, N.Y. — Canastota swept three games from the Ilion Golden Bombers Friday, winning 25-13, 25-8, 25-6.

Cayla Carrillo had eight digs for Ilion (0-8, 0-5 CSC-I); Samantha Bond had six digs; Nickee Thibault had two assists, an ace and two digs; and Kacey Visser had two kills, a block and two digs.

Maureen Krak had 17 assists, four aces, two kills and a dig for Canastota (10-1, 6-0 CSC-I); Melissa Krak had eight kills and a dig; Grace Campbell had 11 kills, two blocks and a dig; and Josie Sgarlata had four digs and served one ace.

Canastota was a 2-0 junior varsity winner.

Ilion travels to Holland Patent Wednesday. Canastota plays Wednesday at Adirondack.
