Conservation Day at Herkimer Diamond KOA Kampground

Sixth-graders from area school districts took part in a 4-H Conservation Day organized by Cornell Cooperative Extension of Herkimer County on May 23. Programs included wilderness safety, protecting state resources, conserving the forests, tree planting, Herkimer Diamonds, fisheries management in New York state, whitewater paddling for fun and safety, conservation in agriculture, deer aging and management, wastewater treatment, soil erosion, pet responsibility and state furbearers.
