Ida M. Smith, formerly of West Street, Mohawk, passed away on Tuesday, June 23, 2009 in Folts Homes, Herkimer.
She was born on February 4, 1922, in Richfield Springs, daughter of the late William and Carolyn Smith, and was educated in Richfield Springs High School. She furthered her education by graduating from Cobleskill College. She was employed as a dietitian with Fairfield Hills State Hospital, Newtown, Conn., retiring in 1992 after 43 years of dedicated service.
She attended the Mohawk Bible Baptist Church.
Ida was predeceased by her sister, Muriel Smith, on February 15, 1987.
A graveside service will commence at 1 p.m. on Monday, June 29, 2009, in Mohawk Cemetery. Services are under the guidance of the Graves-Applegate & Day Funeral Home, 48 E. Main St., Mohawk, Daniel J. Enea, certified pre-planning consultant. There are no calling hours.
