Elizabeth (Betty) Kllc died unexpectedly Monday, June 29, 2009, at Little Falls Hospital with her husband at her side. She completed her earthly journey with grace, faith and confidence in the Almighty God.
She was born on February 1, 1920, in Little Falls, the daughter of late Stephen and Kristina (DeKanek) Duga. Growing up in Clayville, she was educated in Clayville and Sauquoit Valley schools.
Betty moved to Little Falls where she met and married Michael Kllc. The couple were married on July 8, 1939, in Holy Trinity Lutheran Church with the Rev. George Billy officiating. She was a member of Holy Trinity for more than 70 years and a member of the ladies altar guild.
In her early years she was employed at National Automotive Fibers Co. and Allegro Shoe Corp., a member of the church choir and a member of the Order of Eastern Star, she enjoyed sewing, crocheting and keeping the traditions of her Slovak heritage alive. Her baking and gardening skills were enjoyed and appreciated by many.
Betty was blessed with many wonderful, caring friends, relatives and neighbors. For the past eight months she was attended to by kind and caring employees of the Residential Healthcare Facility at Little Falls Hospital and Van Allen Nursing Home.
Betty was a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, god mother, caregiver and good friend and neighbor to many. Her family came first in her life and she cherished the time she could spend with them.
She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Michael Kllc of Little Falls; a son, Michael T. Kllc and daughter-in-law Adrienne of Rochester; a daughter, Betty A. (Kllc) O’Brien and son-in-law Richard of Owego; three grandchildren, Kimberly (Kllc) DiPietro and husband Anthony DiPietro of Rochester, Aaron Kllc of San Francisco, Calif., and Rebecca O’Brien of Owego; two great-grandchildren, Annabelle and Anthony DiPietro of Rochester; sister-in-law, Betty Duga Odin; and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her sisters Christina Duga Kondtratowicz and Anna Duga Krupa, and brother John Duga.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 3, 2009, at 10 a.m. from Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, East Gansevoort Street, Little Falls, with the Rev. James Turturo, pastor of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, officiating. Interment will take place in Holy Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Little Falls.
Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at Chapman-Moser Funeral Home Inc., 42 N. Ann St., Little Falls, on Thursday, July 2, 2009, from 5-8 p.m. and to attend the funeral services Friday morning.
It is the wish of the family that contributions in memory of Mrs. Kllc be considered to the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church Altar Guild (WELCA), 512 E. Gansevoort St., Little Falls, NY 13365. Envelopes are also available at the funeral home for this purpose.
