Mary T. Ruggiero, 88, a long time Little Falls resident, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 27, 2012, at St. Elizabeth's Hospital, Utica, NY, with her loving family by her side.

She was born May 1, 1924, in Herkimer, the daughter of the late Comillo and Josephine (Varano) Cenze, and was educated in Herkimer schools.

Her marriage to Joseph Ruggiero took place on April 19, 1947. Mr. Ruggiero passed away in 1970.

Mary assisted her sons with everyday activities at the former Ruggiero's Italian Feast and the East End Steakhouse, both located in Little Falls.

Mary was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who always put the needs of her family first.

Survivors include her sons, John Ruggiero, of Little Falls, Richard Ruggiero, of Dolgeville, and Ronald Ruggiero, of Gloversville, NY; two special friends of Mary, Sharon Dunphy, of Dolgeville, and Kathy Mussi, of Gloversville; a sister, Theresa Bonfardeci, of Utica; a cherished granddaughter, Carolyn Ruggiero and fiance, Aaron Laventure, and Carolyn's mother, Mary Ann Ruggiero, all of Little Falls; two cherished great-grandsons, Dylan and Aiden; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 31, 2012, at 8:15 a.m. from the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 North Ann St., Little Falls, NY, and at 9:00 a.m. from St. Joseph's Church, Dolgeville, NY, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Reverend William A. Gorman, Pastor. Burial will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Dolgeville, NY. Friends and relatives may call at the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., on Thursday, August 30, 2012, from 6-8 p.m.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Vincent A. Enea Funeral Home, 329 South Washington St., Herkimer, NY, 866-1500.

The family would like to thank the staff of Little Falls Hospital and St. Elizabeth Hospital for the care and compassion shown to Mary during her stay.
