Mr. Eugene H. Bevers, Sr., 72, of Case Road, passed away Friday, Aug. 19, 2011, in the Alpine Nursing Home, with his loving family by his side.
Eugene was born in Brooklyn on Aug. 15, 1939, the son of the late George and Jenny Bishop Bevers, Sr., and he attended schools there.
He was married to Eva Mosher on Oct. 28, 1961, in the Dolgeville United Methodist Church. Mr. Bevers worked as a bus driver and handicap aide for Dolgeville Central School for many years until his retirement in 2001.
Eugene is survived by his wife, Eva; four daughters and two sons-in-law, Cathy and Richard Mosher, of Gorham, NH, Patricia Bevers, of Johnstown, Sandra and Michael Worden, of Little Falls, and Amy Bevers and her fiance, James Becker, of Little Falls; three sons and one daughter-in-law, Eugene, Jr., and his wife, Phyllis Bevers, of Mohawk, Frank Bevers, of Herkimer, and Paul Bevers, of Stratford; 15 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one sister, Margaret Bissett, of Dolgeville; two brothers, Frederick and his wife, Jean Bevers, of Queens Village, and Theodore Bevers, of Pittsburgh; three brothers-in-law, Charles Gilchrist, of Stratford, Harold and Mary Mosher, of Amsterdam, and Alan and Frannie Mosher, of Oppenheim; and one sister-in-law, Vera King, of Stratford. He was predeceased by two sisters, Helen Dunkle and Mary Williams, and three brothers, Frank Ryan, Harry Bevers and George Bevers, Jr.
A memorial service will be held Friday morning, Aug. 26, 2011, at 10 a.m. at the Miller-Plonka Funeral Home, 30 Wolf St., Dolgeville, with Brother David Tarbox officiating. Interment will follow in Dibble-Tuttle Cemetery, Salisbury.
