Ronald J. (Tackeye) Tomei, 57, a longtime Little Falls resident, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, Nov. 4, 2012, at Little Falls Hospital.
He was born May 22, 1955, in Little Falls, the son of the late Frank J. and Mary Ellen (Colwell) Tomei. Ron was educated in Little Falls High School.
Mr. Tomei was a general contractor for over 30 years, being last employed at Statewide Aqua Stores in East Syracuse.
Survivors include two daughters, Kristi K. Tomei and companion, Luke Gamberdella, of Little Falls, and Katy C. Tomei and companion, Andrew Buhaj, of Little Falls, and their mother, Ann Tomei, of Little Falls; three brothers, Jay F. Tomei and wife, Pamela, of Little Falls, James P. Tomei and companion, Helen, of Secaucus, NJ, and Frank J. Tomei, Jr., and wife, Candace, of Little Falls; two sisters, Janet E. Tomei, of Little Falls, and Elaine M. Enea and husband, Vincent, of Herkimer; and a grandson, Brevin Buhaj. He is also survived by his companion, Barbara Bladek, of Little Falls; three aunts, Sarah Nobile and husband, Louis, of Mohawk, Jeanne Murphy and husband, Bill, of Little Falls, and Jeanette Clapper, of Little Falls; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and many friends.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012, at 11 a.m. at the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi and Burns Funeral Home, 329 S. Washington St., Herkimer, with the Rev. Dr. Steven A. Scarcia, rector of the Emmanuel Episcopal Church, officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, town of Herkimer. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2012, from 5 to 8 p.m.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Vincent A. Enea Funeral Service, 329 S. Washington St., Herkimer, 866-1500.
