Elli Baum, 94, of 230 W. Monroe St., Little Falls, and more recently of the Alpine  Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Little Falls, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2012, at that residence.
She was born on Sept. 8, 1918, in Luebeck, Germany, the daughter of the late Joseph and Michalin (Napiralla) Nowicki. She was educated in her native schools, immigrating to this country and Little Falls in 1935. She was united in marriage to her husband of 56 years, Emil P. Baum, on Nov. 22, 1945, at St. Mary’s Parish House, Little Falls. Mr. Baum predeceased her on June 4, 2001.
Mrs. Baum was a member of the Holy Family Parish Church, Little Falls, and a member of the former Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Little Falls. She was also a member at one time of the Little Falls Home Bureau, Little Falls Hospital Guild and the Rock City Senior Citizens. For many years, she was employed as a domestic in various homes in the Little Falls area. She was also employed for several years by the former Salada Foods Corp., Little Falls.
She is survived by her sons, David G. Baum (Veronica), of Penn Yan, Dean J. Baum (Kristen), of York, Pa., and Peter F. Baum, of Little Falls; her daughter, Lisa Palmer (James), of Little Falls; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012, at 11 a.m. from the Holy Family Parish Church, corner of Main and John streets, Little Falls, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Thomas Lawless. Interment will take place in Church Street Cemetery, Little Falls.
Arrangements are by Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann St., Little Falls. There are no calling hours.
It is the wish of the family that contributions in memory of Mrs. Baum be considered to The Jimmy Fund of Boston Children's Hospital to the AT/RT Fund for Cancer Research, P.O. Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284. Envelopes are also available at the funeral home for this purpose.
