Mr. Robert E. “Dusty” Miller, 83, of East Gansevoort Street, Little Falls, passed away on Friday, October 31, 2008, in St. Elizabeth Medical Center.
He was born on October 25, 1925, in Amsterdam, son of the late Earl and Nina (Butts) Miller, and educated in Gloversville schools. He also attended the American Radio Institute of Syracuse. Mr. Miller was employed for 28 years with General Electric Company, Utica, as a radio repair technician. On September 1, 1957, he was united in marriage with Anna P. Lamanna in St. Joseph’s Church, Little Falls; she passed away on October 2, 1999. Mr. Miller attended St. James Lutheran Church in Gloversville.
Mr. Miller was a proud United States veteran of the Army, enlisting on October 4, 1945, and served during World War II. He served with the occupation forces in Okinawa, 1st Air Division, USAAF. He was honorably discharged on July 18, 1947, holding the rank of corporal. He was the recipient of the Army of Occupation Medal and the World War II Victory Medal.
Survivors include two sons, David E. Miller of Little Falls and Dr. James R. Miller and wife Heidi of Kirtland Hills, Ohio; three grandchildren, Nathan, Taylor and Chase Miller; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his sister Marilyn and brother Donald.
Visitation at the Enea Family Funeral Home (Little Falls) will be on Monday, November 3, 2008, from 5-7 p.m. His funeral will commence at 10 a.m. from the chapel of the funeral home on Tuesday, November 4, 2008. Procession will follow to St. Mary’s Cemetery, town of Herkimer, where he will be laid to rest. Military honors will be accorded.
