Eva Keba, 95, a lifelong St. Johnsville resident, passed away on Wednesday, May 7, 2008, at Little Falls Hospital.
She was born December 1, 1912, in St. Johnsville, the daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Fedursky) Moskey, and was educated in Kringsbush Country Schools. She was united in marriage to Joseph P. Keba on April 27, 1930, at St. Patrick’s Church in St. Johnsville. Mr. Keba passed away in 1977.
For over 30 years, Eva worked at Beech- Nut Foods in Canajoharie, retiring in 1975.
Mrs. Keba was a member of St. Patrick’s Church and its Altar Rosary Society. Eva was also a member of the St. Johnsville Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary and was the former Town Clerk of St. Johnsville.
Survivors include her children, Lillian Linney, of St. Johnsville, her son and special daughter-in-law, William and Joan Keba, of Fort Plain, and Irene Mesmer, of Largo, Fla. in-laws, Lois Moskey, of St. Johnsville, John Komar, of St. Johnsville, Margaret Kornas, of North Carolina, David Keba, of Fort Plain, and Steven Keba, of Largo, Fla. 12 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, several great-great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a special niece, Shirley Allen, of Oppenheim. She was predeceased by a sister, Lillian Komar, a brother, John Moskey, and a son-in-law, Robert Mesmer.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 12, 2008, at 9:30 a.m. from the Enea Family Funeral Home, 9 Center St., St. Johnsville, and at 10 a.m. from St. Patrick’s Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Burial will be in St. Johnsville Cemetery.
